Fireworks Prohibited on Allegheny National Forest Lands

Allegheny National Forest Visitors BureauBRADFORD, PA – June 29, 2016 – The Allegheny National Forest wants to remind residents, visitors and campers that all types of fireworks are prohibited on all national forests and grasslands. Fireworks or pyrotechnic devices of any kind cannot be discharged anywhere within a national forests or national grassland regardless of weather conditions or holidays.

All regulations relating to fireworks are strictly enforced, and each violation is punishable as a misdemeanor by a fine of not more than $5,000 or imprisonment of not more than six months, or both.
Forest visitors are also reminded to ensure that all fires are extinguished and cold to the touch before leaving them.
