Forest Service to Replace Trail Bridges

Allegheny National Forest Visitors BureauBRADFORD, PA – May 4, 2017 – The Marienville Ranger District of the Allegheny National Forest announced the commencement of two trail bridge replacement projects. The Forest Service will work with the Forest County Snowmobile Club and the Marienville Trail Riders Snowmobile Club to replace the bridges as follows:

  • Bluejay Creek Bridge – located along the Marienville Bike Trail, which is currently closed, will be replaced from May 2 thru May 19.
  • Straight Run Bridge – located along the Spring Creek Horse Trail #6, which will remain open, but will have a short section rerouted to Forest Service Road 131, will be replaced May 15 thru June 2.

The new replacement bridges will be 35’ x 12’ treated wood stringer bridges with timber planks for decking. Horse users are encouraged to use caution during the construction period.
