Rural Beauty on Canvass
Commission AvailableSamila Sosic of Bradford, Pennsylvania has a passion to paint Pennsylvania’s landscapes and farmlands. Her series, “Rural Beauty,” is about capturing the reflection of light on the structures of rural farms. She wants to capture the diversity of farmlands and architectural structures enhanced by the weather, special light conditions, and seasonal change. Using these elements, she fuses two different careers in her life – architecture and painting.
Samila is a Bosnian native, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She enrolled in the Interdisciplinary Arts program at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford where she obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011. She then continued her art education at the Academy of Art in San Francisco where she obtained her Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing. Samila is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.You can see Samila’s work in Aardvark Gallery in Ellicottville, New York, ECCOTA Gallery in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania and the Depot in Kane, Pennsylvania.
