If it`s kayaks and gear you need to hit the water...you guessed it...they have new and used Old Town kayaks and gear for sale. Beginning April 20, they are open for the season, give them a call 814-331-1963 and get hooked up for the season.

If you haven`t had a sandwhich from The Grocery Stretcher - New in downtown Bradford, you haven`t really lived, friend. Their fresh sliced meats on super fresh bread, fancy cheese and a little magic makes for a sandwhich that makes you say, "that`s the best sandwhich I`ve had in a long time." Signs of Spring are visible across the Allegheny National Forest region! Trees are flowering, grass is growing, black bears are out and about, and spring migration of our feathered friends is imminent. Whether you are a casual birder or a more seasoned observer, the Allegheny National Forest is an amazing location for your next birding adventure.
Here are the top birding spots in McKean County according to eBird: The Kinzua Bridge State Park, Willow Bay Recreation Area, Shawmut Trail and Hamlin Lake Park, Red Bridge Recreation Area, Sugar Bay, and Marilla Reservoir.
Other suggested birding spots in the Allegheny National Forest are the Longhouse National Scenic Drive, Big Bend Biding Overlook, Buzzard Swamp, Beaver Meadows Recreation Area, Tidioute Riverside RecTrek Trail, Buckaloons Recreation Area and Hearts Content Recreation Area.

Here at Trail Central, we like to drop knowledge of unforgettable experiences across the ANF Region and McKean County. The following recommendation is not for the faint of heart, fun-haters or grump sticks. This trail is for the see-food lovers, chunk-a-dunks, glass half empty people. Start out with a homemade cinnamon roll at Jewett`s Kaffe Sol in Mt. Jewett, then head to Kane and hit up Bells Meat & Poultry for a variety of griller. Side bar...the chicken griller is amazing. We don`t want you to be parched, so head to CJ Spirits for their leek vodka, Logyard Brewing their Sour Cherry Raspberry is the ticket,, grab dinner at Table 105, crab stuffed salmon and apple crumble cheesecake is a must. If you haven`t quit yet, venture over to Flickerwood Wine Cellars and Cocktail Lounge for their blackberry dessert wine.
Advice from Trail Central...make sure you have a designated driver. If you need a designated eater and sipper, we`re in.
Trail Central means miles of scenic trails in the ANF Region and McKean County, PA. It means eyes to the sky at Timberdoodle Flats Interpretive Birding Trail. It means biking along Morrison Trail deep into the forest. It means a wooden-covered bridge at Marilla Reservoir. It means hiking among large strands of old growth forest on the White Pine Trail. It means trekking the North Country Scenic Trail, the longest trail in the US.

Just south of Kane, PA is Benezette...Elk Country, home to the largest elk herd to experience in the northeastern US. Our friends at Elk Country Visitor Center are hosting a fun event for the Elk, "Buggles & Beers" Friday, April 26 at Kane`s @Logyard Brewing. Raise your glass and raise some funds to conserve and enhance PA`s elk country for future generations. The event includes raffles, games, prizes and live music from Jody Aiello of Company Townes.
