Big Buck Contest at the Mt. Jewett Sportsmen’s Club

Allegheny National Forest Visitors BureauBRADFORD, PA – November 17, 2020 – On Saturday, November 28, at 5:00 p.m., the Mt. Jewett Sportsmen’s Club will open their clubhouse doors to the public for THE Big Buck Contest. Food will be available from 5:00 p.m. until gone. The showcase of monster bucks will run from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.; all bucks must be entered between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The winners will be announced at 9:00 p.m.

Food will be available by the Swedish Festival Committee; come enjoy soups and sandwiches while you view the bucks.

The winner of the Adult Division will receive a shoulder mount from Tim Oakes of Kinzua Country Taxidermy. The winner of the Junior Division will receive a shoulder mount from Randy Bootes Jr. of Bootes Construction. Other award categories include heaviest buck, widest rack, judges’ choice, and even the smallest buck. All categories are scored using official Boone and Crockett scoring.

In addition, this year the club will have the most up-to-date information on Chronic Wasting Disease available for hunters to pick up and take back to camps or homes, while supplies last.

Memberships will be available to anybody interested in joining the club. The public is welcome to come on out and see what this active sportsmen’s club is all about.
