BRADFORD, PA – April, 16, 2019 – Earth Day is Monday, but we are going to celebrate it on Saturday! Earth Day is a day set aside to celebrate the Earth and our care of our environment. It started back in 1970 and it is still celebrated today. Being part of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, we care a lot about the environment and our precious resources are very important to us!
Are you interested in helping the Earth? Visit the park on Saturday, April 20 (9 – 11 a.m.) and participate in activities such as litter pick-up, raking and tree planting! Dress for the weather. Meet at the Kinzua Bridge State Park Visitor Center lobby.
American Ginseng and other Wild Harvested Plants Workshop

9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join us to learn some of the latest information on Non-Timber Forest Products (including: American ginseng, goldenseal and ramps) and their importance both economically and culturally! Starting with an overview to better understand these species, the workshop offers updates on ginseng biology and stewardship. The speakers will talk about “Best Management Practices” for harvesters, collectors, and buyers. At the end of the day there will be a question and answer portion as well.

Join us at Kinzua Bridge State Park on Sunday, April 21st at 6:45 a.m. to stroll out on the “Skywalk” to watch the sunrise. It’s a great time to reflect and peacefully look over the Kinzua Creek Valley. Later meet in the classroom for some hot coffee or hot chocolate and reminisce about the “Bridge”. This is a special event and the building will be open early to participants. Dress for the weather and meet on the “Bridge”.

Dress for the weather. Meet in the main parking area near the pool. The park will supply garbage bags and a limited number of gloves.
