First-Time Hunter Harvests Coyote During Statewide Hunt

Allegheny National Forest Visitors BureauBRADFORD, PA – February 17, 2020 – Nathan Hoffman of St. Marys, Elk County, harvested his first coyote during the Rolfe Beagle Club’s statewide coyote and fox hunt, running from 2/14-16, and 2/21-23. Nathan was hunting in Elk County on Saturday morning and called in a prime female coyote that tipped the scales at 34 pounds. Nathan shoots a .22-.250 caliber rifle and uses calls for his hunting. Nathan shot the coyote at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, 2/15.

Predator hunters wishing to still register for the second weekend of the hunt must have their registration in by Thursday, 2/20. Contact Mary Hosmer at or 814-512-2101 to register.

All harvested predators will be weighed in at 4:00 p.m. on all four remaining days of the hunt.
