Consider starting your "New Year" off with a healthy walk along the General Kane Hiking Trail. The "First Day Hike" is an approximately 1.5 mile, easy to moderate, walk in the woods. During the hike, look for signs of wildlife in the area. This trail is in the "open to hunting" area, so participants are asked to wear orange hats and vests. Wear appropriate footwear and dress for the weather. Meet at the Trailhead in the overflow parking area. Coffee and hot chocolate will be provided after the walk in the Visitor Center Classroom. If so, then join staff of the Pfeiffer Nature Center on their 5th Annual Winter's Day Hike. The hike will be moderately strenuous - which, in terms of exercise means you will be able to talk but not sing during the activity. The hike is free to the public and will take place rain or shine.
