Hold on to your hats for a breakneck tour of 500 years of American history in this fast and funny high-energy hour! Your kids will come face to face with Columbus, the Pilgrims, the Salem "witches," George Washington, the Boston Tea Partiers, the framers of the Constitution, the Missouri Compromisers, Levi Strauss and his blue jeans, and the Gettysburg Address -- and that's just in the first 35 minutes! Add in Thomas Edison, the invention of movies, WWI and II, the Great Depression, FDR, the Cold War, the Civil Rights movement, the women's rights movement, hippies, Watergate, Reagan and Gorbachev, and the invetion of the internet, and you have a fun -- but still useful -- overview of the greatest social experiment in world history.

The McKean Fair is hosting a Haunted Barn, Hayride & Corn Maze October 18, 19, 25 & 26 from 6-10 pm! Food stand will be open! Mr. D’s Donuts will be there! Nate Howard will have pumpkins available for sale! Cost is $10 (includes all 3 segments) for anyone over the age of five. A family pack is available for $25 for 2 adults and 4 kids, aged 10 and under!

Radio Telemetry
Join Penn State Intern Ryan Polinsky as he introduces us to radio telemetry. Ryan will talk about the different uses for radio telemetry and how it helps collect data. He plans on bringing an elk collar and the different receiver types and antenna types for visuals and he will also be hiding a collar and showing people how they would locate the collar.

Wild Edibles with Brian Budjanec
Join guest speaker Brian Budjanec as he teaches about a variety of wild edibles in our surrounding woods! The Battle of Leyte Gulf Presentation, Eldred WW II Museum

Steve Appleby will present The Battle of Leyte Gulf: The United States Third Fleet and the United States Seventh Fleet win a decisive naval battle over the Imperial Japanese Navy in the Philippine Islands. Also, the story of Port Allegany’s Seaman Johnson’s service and sacrifice during the battle. Doors open at 6:30 pm, program starts at 7 pm. Free to the public, donations welcome.
