Sat 12th Dec to Sun 27th Dec | Story Book Trail at Lillibridge, Portville, NY Share in the beauty and fun of the Holidays at the Lillibridge Property where we have created a Story Book Reading Trail for the young people in your life or for those of you with a “Young at Heart” Christmas Spirit. Begin your storybook adventure on the Interpretive Trail ( Griffin’s Way– an easy, .36 mi round trip trail) and read along to the Bear Stays Up for Christmas story as you wander through our old-growth hemlock forest. The storybook pages are held in place by our gentle giants for you to read as you pass by. Be sure to read both sides of the tree! See our map at the Lillibridge kiosk to find where your adventure with Bear and his Woodland Friends, begins. The Lillibridge Property is located at 1974 Lillibridge Road, Portville, NY. Wed 27th Jan | Holocaust Remembrance Day, Eldred Eldred WW II Museum is hosting a virtual event for International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Wed. Jan. 27, 2021, at 1 PM for adults. This live virtual presentation will feature Menachem Etkin from Israel, Steve Appleby from the museum, with Emily Putzke/ Author/Blogger hosting. Menachem will be sharing the story of his father, Michael Etkin, who became a partisan during the war and was the only member of his family to survive the Holocaust. Blue skies and snow-covered trails are the perfect setting for a hike about Lillibridge. Bring your own snowshoes or borrow a pair of traditional, wooden bear paw snowshoes from us when you visit Pfeiffer Nature Center’s winter wonderland. This hike is for both the novice and advanced alike. If there is no snow, join us for a winter stroll along the trails through field and forest. The program will be canceled if we are experiencing extreme weather conditions.
