Beginner Fly-Fishing School, Olmsted Manor Retreat Center
This retreat is designed for aspiring fly fishers, as well as veteran fly-fishers that have never taken a formal course. This three-day course reveals the all secrets of fly fishing, from setting up your equipment, tying knots, identifying aquatic insects, determining where fish lay in a stream, and selecting a fly, casting and fishing it in a way that leads to success. Beginning at 3:30pm on Friday and ending on Sunday at 5 pm.

Come have a great time with staff of the Pfeiffer Nature Center at the nature craft table in the Portville Library. All ages will enjoy creating these fun crafts using items which come directly from nature herself.

Santa Claus will be visiting and there will be lots of other library craft activities going on too!

It's for the Birds - Pine Cone Bird Feeders Make & Take, Kinzua Bridge State Park
Stop by the Kinzua Bridge State Park Visitor Center Classroom to learn a little about our winter feeder birds. Then make your own pine cone bird feeder and take it home with you! It's a great way to get your children interested in the outdoors during winter!

Meet in the Visitor Center Classroom. Binoculars will be available to use to admire the bird feeder birds from the lobby.

Forest Bathing - Moving Meditation, Pfeiffer Nature Center
Forest bathing, also known in Japanese culture as "taking in the forest atmosphere," is a moving meditation surrounded by nature. Engage your senses with Jessie Lampack Slattery a locally registered yoga instructor.

This program is open all ages. This program is outdoors, so dress appropriately for cold weather. Cost is $5 per person.

In the event of freezing rain or extreme temperatures the program will be moved to December 14th from 2 to 3 pm.
