Visit the Zippo/Case Museum, home of the renowned Pennsylvania company that has produced the world-famous Zippo wind proof lighter for over 80 years. This is not just a lighter museum but an “American pop-icon” museum. The exhibits now feature the 500 Millionth lighter that was produced on June 4, 2012, the birth date of the company’s late founder, George C. Blaisdell.
A free museum to visit, the Zippo/Case Museum is open 7 days a week. Featuring interactive exhibits, the repair clinic, and award-winning video, one of the displays will be sure to spark your interest. Plan to have you photo taken with the customized Zippo Car or Zippo Jeep, both “product mobiles” used to promote Zippo products at parades and events throughout America.
The newly opened Zippo/Case Store within the museum is a one-of-kind shopping experience. The Zippo/Case Museum is located at 1932 Zippo Drive in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Hours are Monday-Friday 9 am to 5 pm and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm. Group tours are welcome with advance reservation.
The 500 Millionth Zippo lighter, now on display, boasts a classic brushed chrome finish with two-tone engraving, a distinctive stamp including June 5, 2012 as the date of manufacture and a time stamp and individual serial number of “1” on the front of the case.
Two highly collectible commemorative lighters, the Zippo 500 Millionth replica and a deluxe limited edition model, will be offered worldwide in August via the 2012/2013 Zippo Choice Catalog. Additional information regarding the 500 Millionth collectible commemorative lighters can be found at www.zippo.com.
