The Centennial Hiking Challenge will take you to over 100 miles of the best and most beautiful trails we offer. Whether you want to take a peaceful nature walk on a flat, established trail, or trek through a virtually untouched wilderness area far from the noise and congestion of town, these trails all have something unique to offer. Log the date, trail name and miles hiked. When you complete 100 miles bring your hiking log to the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau or any of the ANF Ranger offices to receive commemorative items, while supplies last. The Johnny Appleseed Festival has become one of the premier stops on the professional lumberjack circuit. It draws many of the very best competitors from the U.S. and Canada. Once again, this year the ever-popular Draft Horse and Antique Tractor Pulls will be showcased featuring a field of regional and local favorites. Both of these events have been great fan favorites in the past and we are pleased to continue the tradition. In addition, we will be continuing our fun activities for children this year. The Sawdust Pile Dive, Pumpkin Walk, face painting and more have proven to be immensely popular events designed especially for our youth and their families. As always, we will have live music, apple pie baking contest, cornhole tournament, wine tasting at the Sheffield Firehall and our awesome fireworks show on Saturday night. Finally, our many loyal vendors continue offering an array of great food as well as beautiful crafts and other items.
