Ribfest is back in Salamanca, NY
Swine Time Parade - August 18th, at 2:00pm.
Ribs'n Rides Car and Bike Show, Cars and Bikes will cruise over on Saturday,
August 17th, for registration from 9:00 am - 1:00pm, awards begin at 3:pm and
trophies given to those Best of Show. All makes and models are welcome and
dash plaques will be handed out to the first 50 cars to arrive at the event.

SATURDAY August 17

10:00 - 11:00 - "Predator - Prey Relationships" - During the Activity KECA will be discussing predator - prey relationships and learning all about adaptations that help these animals survive! There will be activities such as adaptation artisity, reading of stories and many more!
11:30 - 1:00 - "Paracord Survival" - Come and learn with KECA the many ways that paracord can be used in a survival situation. Stay after the demonstration and make your own survival bracelet!
1:30 - 3:30 - " Become a Junior Elk Expert" - There is so much you can learn at the Elk Country Visitor Center! Come out to the pavillion and receive a worksheet. Take time to explore the center and grounds to answer all the questions. Bring the completed worksheet back and get your certificate recognizing you as a Keystone Elk Country Alliance Jr. Elk Expert!
4:00 - 5:30 - "Puzzle Fun" - Join KECA in the pavilion for many hands on activities, including puzzles, coloring pages, a nature scavenger hunt, and even Elk Antler ring toss!

SUNDAY August 18th

10:00 - 11:30 -" All about Antlers" - Come learneverything you would ever want to know about Elk Antlers! Experience a tactile adventure as you handle many different sets of antlers and learn fascinating facts about them. For example, antlers are one of the world's fastest growing living tissues! Afterwards practice scoring a set of antlers!
12:00 - 1:00 - "Junior Elk Biologist" - Come and see what some of the tasks of elk biologists are! We will be learning all about the elk's four chambered stomach, as well as doing activities that explain why keeping track of the elk population is important! Receive a certificate after completing both activities!
1:30 - 3:00 - "Paracord Survival" - Come and learn the many ways that paracord can be usedin a surivial situation. Stay after the demonstration and make your own bracelet!
3:30 - 4:30 - "Caterpillar to Butterfly" - Start off by hearing a special story about how caterpilliars transform into the beautiful butterflies that we see throughtout the summer.
Then enjoy some interactive crafts surrounding the "butterfly" theme.
5:00 - 6:00 - "Binoculars for Beginners" Learn binocular viewing basics! Test your skills, and hit the trails to view elk and other wildlife! * Limited supply of binoculars*
