Hike 100 Miles to Commemorate 100 Years

Come join us in celebrating 100 years of growth and adventure on the Allegheny National Forest by hiking 100 miles. The Centennial Hiking Challenge will take you to over 100 miles of the best and most beautiful trails we offer. Whether you want to take a peaceful nature walk on a flat, established trail, or trek through a virtually untouched wilderness area far from the noise and congestion of town, these trails all have something unique to offer.

Log the date, trail name and miles hiked. When you complete 100 miles bring your hiking log to the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau or any of the ANF Ranger offices to receive commemorative items, while supplies last. The hiking challenge ends on September 24, 2024.

ANF Centennial GeoTrail
28 ANF Centennial Geocaches will be placed throughout the Allegheny National Forest. (McKean, Warren, Elk, & Forest Counties) Find at least 20 cashes and write down the code word to receive and ANF Centennial Souvenir Token. Passports are free and can be obtained at any ANF office locations or by downloading & printing your own. Tracking available by geocaching.com

Eclipse Retreat: Path of Totality
On Monday, April 8, 2024, a much-anticipated solar eclipse will occur, and the “path of totality” will pass right over the Olmsted area! You are invited to a Sunday through Tuesday retreat to enjoy the eclipse together with others. You’ll explore a few Biblical images of the majesty of God’s creation, and, on Monday, plan to view the eclipse together using telescopes with solar filtering and other safe viewing means. (Should the weather obstruct the view locally, live images of the eclipse will be streamed via the Internet.)

Eclipse Viewing Party at Willow Bay

Total Solar Eclipse Viewing Party
The Bradford Regional Airport will open the airfield for prime eclipse viewing. 

*Eclipse glasses available for purchase while supplies last.
*$3.00 per person airfield entry fee.
*Food truck/Refreshments available for purchase.
*No food or beverages permitted on the airfield.
*Chairs/Seating will not be provided

There is no fee for local schools to bring students to view the eclipse but please make advanced reservations for bus parking.
