Creator Presentation & Exhibition of the embroideries of the workshop known as Savane Rutongo-Kabuye was created by a group of Rwandan women living in the aftermath of the 1994 Genocide
against the Tutsis. They came from both sides of the conflict, yet they put the events of the past behind them to work together in the hope that their children would have a better future. Experience the story of how these exquisite pieces are made which is as captivating as the work itself.

To reserve snowshoes, email naturalist@pfeiffernaturecenter.org or call the office at 716-933-0187 and leave your name, phone number, style of snowshoe, whether they are for a child or adult, and the quantity you would like to borrow. Children’s snowshoes are best suited for ages 12 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. We will get back to you to confirm your request. This hike will take place at the Lillibridge Preserve, 1974 Lillibridge Rd., Portville NY. This program is free to the public but will be canceled if we are experiencing extreme weather conditions.
