This non-profit group of enthusiastic sportsmen volunteer their time on projects designed to maintain and promote the beauty and available fishing opportunities of the Allegheny Reservoir. To highlight the great fishing to be found on the Reservoir, they hosted the first annual Kinzua Cup Walleye Tournament in 2022.
The 2023 Kinzua Cup Walleye Tournament includes two days of fishing, May 20 & May 21, 2023. The first day is “Big Fish” Day, with prizes for the largest fish, and the second day is Tournament Day.
The Allegheny Reservoir has held state records for both walleye and northern pike. Fishing includes nearly every species an angler would desire: walleye, northern pike, trophy class muskie, catfish, crappie, and sauger, to name a few.
Volunteer projects completed to date, by the Willow Creek Sportsman Club, includes creating 500 fish structures in Willow Bay and Sugar Bay, building cribs to protect bait fish, garbage pick up along ten miles of trout streams, trail pick-up and maintenance on Tracy Ridge trail systems, and Youth Conservation Day. The club will be doing a variety of future projects on the Allegheny Reservoir, and within the Allegheny National Forest, to enhance and give back to the natural resources of the Allegheny Reservoir.
Willow Bay is located approximately 20 minutes driving time west of Bradford, PA.
